Easy 7 Petal Hybrid Flower

START

Ch 3, join with sl st to form ring. Work 7 sc in ring. Sl st to first sc. (7 sc)

ROW 1 (PUFF PETAL CENTER)

Ch 1. In the ring, work 5-stitch puff stitch, close with ch1 and make a 2nd ch. Repeat in each 7 sc.

NOTE: Make sure your puffs look nice and even. If you have to, redo to make them even looking. Sl st to join.

NOTE: Your puffs may look 'puffier' on the other side, so you can cut yarn and flip over to continue.

ROW 3 (RING AROUND CENTER)

In each ch2 space, make 4 hdc. Continue around. Join

ROW 4 (V-STITCH RING)

Work V-stitch as follows: For first one, Ch 3 (counts as dc) and ch2. Skip 2 stitches and in 3rd, work 1 dc. Ch 2 and work another 1 dc in SAME stitch. Continue around to work a ring of V-stitches. Join.

NOTE: You can adjust the number of ch stitches in the V depending on your yarn thickness. You can also adjust the number of stitches you skip. You want to work your V stitch ring so it lays flat, so make adjustments if needed.

ROW 5 (OUTER PETALS)

In the ch2 (or 3) space of the V, work 5-7 dcs (adjust so your stitches lay somewhat flat). then work 1 hdc into the stitch where the Vs connect. Continue working around. Join.

NOTE: Your flower should lay fairly flat so adjust your stitches here accordingly.

ROW 6 (EDGING)

In the hdc stitch, work 1 hdc. Then ch 2-3 and work 1 sc at the top of the petal you made in prior row. Work 3-st picot, 1 sc in same stitch. Then ch 2-3 and work 1 hdc in the hdc at the bottom of the petal.

NOTE: This should make a nice edging that follows the contour of your petals. Adjust stitches accordingly.
