132-C Easy 7-Petal Daisy Flower

NOTES:

  • Color changes are not indicated in pattern but you can use different color for each row.


SPECIAL STITCHES

Double Crochet Cluster (dc cl) = yoh x2; insert hook into correct space, yoh, draw back through space, draw through 2 loops two times, leaving last two on hook; make a second dc cl the same way; three loops on hook; repeat one more time, then draw through last four loops to form your cluster.

START

Chain 5 (first chain will serve as your ring).



ROW 1 (DAISY)

Work double crochet cluster into ring. Ch 4. Repeat till you have 7 daisy petals. Join.

ROW 2

In ch4 space, work 6-7 hdc (may depend on yarn thickness. Then front post hdc over tip of petal. Continue around. Join.

ROW 3

In the middle of the 6-7 hdc, join yarn with sc. Then in the stitch at the top of the loop, work 7-8 chains and slip to bottom to form a loop. Continue making hdcs and loops around.


Fasten off.

ROW 4 (OUTER PETALS)

In middle of the hdc group, slip into stitch. Then into loop, work 5-7 dcs (depending on thickness of yarn), ch 2 and work same number of dcs down the loop. Then slip into middle of the hdc group. Work around to make 7 outer petals.

ROW 5 (EDGING) - optional

Work single crochet edging up the sides of each outer petal. In the ch2 at top work 1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc. At the bottom of each petal, slip instead of sc to reduce bulk.
