START

Ch 3; do not join

ROW 1 (CENTER)

In 1st ch, work 6 sc. pull yarn end to close ring. Slip st in top of 1st ch.

ROW 2 (CENTER)

Ch1, *1 sc in next 2 chs, 2 sc in next ch**, rep * to **. Slip st in top of 1st ch to join.

ROW 3 (CENTER)

Ch 1, *1 sc in each sc, sl st to join round.

ROW 4 (CENTER)

Repeat row 3. Fasten off.

ROW 5 (PETALS)

Join new color in any sc of center.


*Ch 12. Working down chain, in 2nd ch work 1 slip st. Then work 2 sc, 5 hdc, 3 sc (to end of chain).

In next sc in base, 1 sc to join the petal. Pull tight to make sure each petal is tight to center.** Repeat * to ** around base to complete petal round. Fasten off.

FINISHING

You may want to stuff center of flower with a bit of stuffing to puff it out. Just make some yarn stitches across back to hold in place.


Lightly press the petals to flatten them out.
