NOTES:

  • Color changes are not indicated in pattern but you can use different color for each row.

SPECIAL STITCHES

Double Triple Crochet Cluster (dtrc cl) = yoh x3; insert hook into correct space, yoh, draw back through space, draw through 2 loops three times, leaving last two on hook; make a second dtrc the same way; three loops on hook; repeat one more time, then draw through last four loops to form your cluster.

START

Make thick ring by wrapping yarn around your forefinger about 5-6 times, slip carefully off finger, put hook through and start to work hdc stitches. Try to catch loose tail under stitches as you work them.

ROW 1 (CENTER)

Work 20 hdc into ring. Join.

ROW 2 (DAISY)

Join into any hdc. Ch 5 (to bring up yarn), work a double triple crochet cluster (but one less since you have your ch6). Ch 4. Skip a stitch and *work double triple crochet cluster, ch 4** Continue around. (10 petals) Join.

ROW 3

Join into one of the ch 4 spaces. Work 6 hdc into ch4 space, making 2 hdc in one stitch at the top of the arc and skip one hdc at bottom where it joins the next ch4 space.

This will make a slight curve at the top and eliminate bulk at the bottom of each shape.

Continue around. Join.

ROW 4 (EDGING)

Work a simple sc edging around, making an extra sc at the top of the arc and skipping one at the base (like you did in row 3). Join.

This should make a fairly flat smooth edging. Adjust your stitches if needed to make it lay flat.

Fasten off.
