028-C Easy Large Lacey Flower

START

Ch 3, do not join (you'll use the first chain as your ring).

ROW 1

Work 10 dc in 1st chain (ring). Join with sl st (10). Pull end to close ring.

ROW 2

In any stitch, Ch 3 (counts as dc), 1 dc in same st. *2 dc in each dc** around. Join to the ch3. (20 dc).

ROW 3 (CREATE HEXAGON)

In any stitch, ch 3 (counts as dc), 1 dc in same st, Ch 2, 2 dc in same stitch, ch2. *Skip the next 3 sts, in next stitch 2dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same stitch, ch 2**. Continue * to ** around till you get 5 sides. Join with sl st to the ch 3. Make sure your stitches are correct and you have made 5 sides.


NOTE: Going forward, you'll be working clusters of stitches on top of each other, connected by chain stitches with sc stitches securing the chains. See picture to orient yourself - the directions seem a bit confusing but it's actually quite easy if you understand basically where you're placing your stitches.

ROW 4

Sl st into ch2 space between the 2 dc cluster. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) and make 1 more dc in space. Ch 2, and make 2 additional dcs into same ch space. Into stitch between the next 2 dcs, work 1 dc. Ch 3, 1 sc in the sc that was worked in the ch3 space, Ch 3. Into stitch between the 2 dcs, work 1 dc. *2 dcs, ch 2, 2 dcs into next ch-2 space, 1 dc into stitch between the next 2 dcs, ch 3, 1 sc in the sc that was worked in the ch3 * Repeat * to ** 3 more times. Join with sl st to the ch 3.

ROW 5

Slst into ch2 space between the 2 dc cluster. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) and make 1 more dc in space. Ch 2 and and make 2 additional dcs into same ch space. Into next dc, work 1 dc and in next dc work 2 dcs. Ch 3, 1 sc in the sc. Ch 3. Into next dc, work 2 dc, in next dc work 1 dc. *2 dcs, ch2, 2 dcs into next ch-2 space, 1 dc into next dc, 2 dc into next dc, ch 3, 1 sc in the sc, ch 3*** Repeat * to ** 3 more times. Join with sl st to the ch3.

ROW 6

Slst into ch2 space between the 2 dc cluster. Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) and make 1 more dc in space. Ch 2, 2 dcs into same ch space. 1 dc in the next 4 dc, Ch4, sc in the next ch3 space, ch4, *sk the next dc, 1 dc in the next 2 dc, 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the ch2 sp, 1dc in the next 4 dc, Ch4, sc in the next ch3 space, ch4**. Repeat * to *** to * 3 more times, join to the ch3.

ROW 7 (OPTIONAL EDGING)

1 sc in each stitch around edge but skip 3-4 stitches at base of petals (to eliminate bulk). . In ch 2 space at top of petals, work 1 sc, ch 1, 1 sc (to allow for curve of petal).


Fasten off.
