START

Ch 4; join with a slip stitch to form a ring.

ROW 1 (BASE)

Ch 2, make 11 double crochet (dc) stitches into the ring. (12 dc). Join.

ROW 2 (PETAL 1)

Into one of the spaces between the dc stitches in round 1, ch 2 (serves as 1 dc). Make another dc into same space.

Make two dc stitches into each remaining space. Join. (12 petals).

ROW 3 (PETAL 2)

In one of the spaces between the petals in round 2, ch 2 (serves as 1 dc) and make rest of popcorn (3 dcs in same space, ch 1). Ch 2.

Continue making popcorn stitches (4 dcs + ch1) and ch2. Join. (12 popcorn petals).

ROW 4 (PETAL 3)

Work into the chain spaces between the popcorn petals of round 3.

Ch 1 (serves as 1 sc). Into same space make a half double crochet (hdc), a double crochet (dc), a half treble (htr), a double crochet (dc), a half double crochet (hdc), and an sc.

Into each of the other spaces make one sc, one hdc, one dc, one htr, one dc, one hdc and one sc. Join with a slip stitch. (12 petals).

Fasten off.
