  • Petals are made sideways

  • Don't worry if the number of petals around isn't exact - as long as the petals look good and lay flat that's OK.

START

Ch 3; do NOT join into ring.

ROW 1 (BASE)

In first ch, work 12 dc. Pull starting yarn to close hole. Change color.

ROW 2

Ch 2 (to bring up yarn), work 2 dc in each st. Sl st to join.

Change color.

ROW 3 (base for 1ST PETAL LAYER)

*1 sc, ch 1, skip next st* around. Slip to join. (12 ch1 loops)

ROW 4 (1ST PETAL LAYER)

Slip st into ch1 space. Ch 6. Dc in the third chain from hook, dc in the next three chains. Sl st in the same ch 1 space. *Sl st in the next ch 1 space, ch 6, dc in the third chain from hook, dc in the next three chains. Sl st in the same ch 1 space**. Continue * to ** around for 1st layer of petals.

ROW 5 (base for 2ND PETAL LAYER)

Sl into the st between the petals, ch 2. (Sl st into the next st between petals, ch 2). Chains should lay behind 1st petal layer. Continue around, sl st to join.

ROW 6 (2ND PETAL LAYER)
