Very simple, flexible pattern
Can use novelty/textured yarn for outside and/or inside rows to add visual interest
Use button or other decorative motif to fill in center gap
NOTE: This pattern is VERY flexible. You can vary size of flower by using thicker yarn and knit more rows to make wider flower.
START
You can work on short circular knitting needle or double-pointed.
Cast on 68 stitches,
REMAINING ROWS
Knit across all stitches.
Knit at least 1-1/2 inches -- but you can make more rows to make the flower a bit deeper.
Works well with textured or furry yarn on the first 3-4 outer rows and/or on the last 2 inside rows.
LAST ROW
Knit 2 stitches together across round.
CAST OFF
Break off yarn leaving a long tail and thread on yarn needle. Thread through all stitches on needle, remove needle and pull to draw together - secure but leave an open circle enough to sew in your decorative center.
Weave in any loose threads.
