  • Larger version of 032-C with extra petal layer

START

Ch 3, do not join into ring. 1st chain will serve as ring.

ROW 1 (BASE)

Ch 3, 11 dc in ring. Join with Sl st on 3rd chain. (12 dc)

ROW 2 (BASE)

Work 2 sc in each stitch. (24 sc)

ROW 3 (LOOPS FOR PETALS)

Ch 7, join with sl st at base, *1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc then ch 7, join with sl st** Repeat * to ** to make 6 loops. Join.

ROW 4 (1st PETALS)

In each loop, work as follows: 1 sc, 3 hdc, 6 dc, 3 hdc, 1 sc. Slip into middle stitch at base between petals and pull tight. Continue working around to make 6 petals. Join.

ROW 5 (BASE FOR 2nd PETAL ROW)

To create 2nd petal row, you're going to create a base of stitches behind the petals you just worked, going back to the Row 1 base. You'll be making 2 rows of a flat base that sit behind the 1st row of petals, and then you'll work a 2nd layer of petals to finish. All these rows are in the same color.

In color you're going to use for your 2nd petal row, you're going to work back post sc stitches around the gaps in stitches at the edge of the center you made in Row 1. Work a back post sc around each gap and ch1 in between -- you should have 12 back post scs and 12 ch1s. Join.

ROW 6 (BASE)

You're going to make your back base bigger with this row.

Ch 2 (serves as 1 dc). *In next ch1 loop, 2 dc, then 1 dc in next stitch**. Continue * to ** around. This should be making a fairly flat larger ring around the back.

ROW 7 (2nd PETAL LOOPS)

Ch 7, join with sl st at base, *1 sc, 1 sc, 1 sc. In next st ch 7, join with sl st at base**Continue around to make 8 loops. Join with sl st.

NOTE: You can fudge a bit with spacing here if it doesn't work out perfectly - just make sure your loops are somewhat equally spaced out.

ROW 8 (2nd PETALS)

In each loop, work as follows: 1 sc, 3 hdc, 6 dc, 3 hdc, 1 sc. Slip into base and pull tight. Make 1 sc in st between loops. Continue * to ** in all loops. Join.

Fasten off.

FINISHING

Tug on petals to stretch them out and push stitches down to base. Do to all petals to even out.
